Our handbags are made in the same atelier as our jackets, on the same cutting table, by the same hands. The leather is chosen for its ability to hold a shape for years, not months. Each design begins with a question: what does this bag need to do, and what is the most honest way to make it do that well?
We do not decorate. We construct.
Handbag 01
The Elba
Leather, Natural vegetable-tanned saddle leather, unfinished surface, pale gold.
Inspiration
Named after the island off the Tuscan coast, small, self-sufficient, and quietly beautiful. The Elba is our most open design: a wide-mouth tote with a flat base and two braided handles. Nothing is hidden. Everything is exactly as it appears.
How it is made
The base panel is a single piece, no join, no seam beneath. The sides are gusseted with a hand-mitered corner that allows the bag to expand under load without losing its line. Handles are braided from three strips of the same hide, knotted at the base and sewn through the top panel with two rows of saddle stitch. The interior has one flat pocket, hand-stitched at the opening.
How it ages
Natural saddle leather tans with light. In the first year, the Elba darkens from pale gold to a warm amber, more deeply in the areas most touched by sun and hand. The surface develops a burnished quality that no finishing process can replicate, it is the leather's own response to being used. What you carry will leave marks. These become the bag's character, and yours.

The Trieste
Leather, Full-grain smooth calfskin in dark cognac.
Inspiration
A city on the edge of Italy, and of everything that is not Italy. The Trieste is a mid-size shoulder bag with a single brass clasp and a clean, unbroken front panel. It is designed for people who are tired of looking at bags. It does not ask for attention. It simply holds its shape.
How it is made
The front and back panels are cut from the tightest section of the hide, where the grain is most consistent. The clasp is solid brass, polished by hand before attachment, and set into a reinforced channel that will not tear over time. The strap is adjustable at both ends and can be removed entirely for use as a clutch. Interior: two compartments divided by a slip pocket, all edges hand-burnished and waxed.
How it ages
Dark cognac calfskin ages toward a deep chestnut. The transition is gradual and even, there are no sudden shifts in tone, only a slow deepening in the areas of most use. The brass clasp develops a soft patina that stops short of tarnish. After two years of daily use, the Trieste looks like it has always been yours. After five, it looks like it was made for you.

The Rodes
Leather, Antiqued full-grain hide in deep burgundy, hand-treated with beeswax.
Inspiration
The ancient harbour, the knights, the long light in the evening. The Rodes is the largest bag in our collection, a structured doctor's bag with a brass frame, two internal compartments, and a flat base wide enough to stand on its own. It is built for people who carry more than they should and refuse to compromise on what holds it.
How it is made
The antiqued finish is applied by hand, layer by layer, with a sponge and a cloth, until the color has the kind of depth that photographs cannot quite reach. The brass frame is solid, not hollow. The hinges are heavy and smooth, they will open the same way after ten years as they do on the first day. The base is reinforced with a second layer of leather, skived at the edge to avoid bulk. Both interior compartments are divided by a central panel and lined in a dark cotton twill.
How it ages
Beeswax treatment gives the Rodes a natural resistance to moisture and holds the burgundy deeper than untreated leather would. The antiqued surface means the bag already carries the suggestion of a history on the first day you carry it. Over time, the depth increases, the wax oxidises slowly, the color shifts toward garnet, and the brass frame develops the kind of patina that cannot be bought.

The Sinaia
Leather, Smooth full-grain calfskin in warm caramel.
Inspiration
A mountain town in Romania, where the air is cold and the light is flat and beautiful. The Sinaia is our smallest bag, a compact crossbody designed to carry very little, very well. It is the bag you reach for when you want to carry almost nothing and feel no lack.
How it is made
Small bags require more precision than large ones. Every millimetre of proportion matters in a piece this size. The strap is hand-stitched at both attachment points with two rows of saddle stitch, the strongest join we know, done slowly. The zip is solid Italian brass, sourced from the same hardware supplier as our jacket fittings, because there is no reason to use a different standard for a smaller piece. Interior: one flat slip pocket, no division.
How it ages
Smooth caramel calfskin shows wear more gradually than vegetable-tanned leather. The color deepens slowly and evenly over the first two years, without the dramatic shift of untreated hides. By the third year, it has a warmth and richness that only comes from being used. The stitching at the strap attachments will outlast everything else about this bag, which is exactly as it should be.
